Popular Tollywood film distributor, G Kamalakar Reddy and his father died in a major road accident while on their way to Hyderabad. This accident took place on 19th August at around 3 am.
The accident took place at the Wadapally check post in Nalgonda district in the wee hours of the morning. Kamalakar Reddy was 48 and his father aged 75. It is also being heard that Kamalakar Reddy’s father had tested positive for Coronavirus and hence, they were travelling to a private hospital for the same from Nellore to Hyderabad. At Kondaprolu, the ambulance, in which the father and son were travelling, had hit a lorry, lorry which was parked on the road and resulted in their death. Both died on the spot due to major head injury. The driver of the ambulance was taken to a nearby hospital due to severe injuries.
The police upon acknowledging this accident, rushed to the accident site to investigate in this regard. The early speculations suggest that the driver might have fallen asleep which led to the crash.
The dead bodies of both Kamalakar Reddy and his father have been taken to a government hospital for the post-mortem. Kamalakar Reddy was into film distribution and exhibition for 25 years and has been a part of films like Pamavaat, Arjun Reddy and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya .
