Shashi Preetam, the Telugu music director, singer-songwriter, performer, music producer, instrumentalist, documentary filmmaker, philanthropist, and ardent animal love, suffered a heart attack on Thursday. The Tollywood music composer was rushed to a private hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, and was admitted to ICU. The doctors from the cardiology department performed an angioplasty and the condition of Shashi Preetam is said to be stable now.
The hospital authorities revealed that the music composer Shashi Preetam was brought to the hospital in a serious condition. He was suffering from Myocardial Infarction and performed angioplasty on Thursday. His health condition continues to remain stable with the ongoing active medical support at the cardiac ICU.”
Shashi Preetam is popular for scoring the music of the romantic and action entertainer Gulabi, which was released in 1995 and was one of the greatest musical hits of the Telugu Film Industry. The movie starring JD Chakravarthy and Maheswari was directed by Krishna Vamsi and was produced by Ram Gopal Varma in association with Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited. He has composed and given background scores for numerous Telugu and Hindi movies in his career. He is mainly remembered for his soulful, l and hypnotising voice. Shashi Preetam made his debut in Bollywood with director Mani Shankar’s spy thriller movie Mukhbiir.
