Telugu playback singer G Anand passed away on Thursday evening. He breathed his last after battling COVID-19. The Telugu singer was 67. G Annad had tested positive for the Coronavirus few days ago and his oxygen saturation fell to 55 and a ventilator could not be provided in time, that lead to his death His treatment was going on at the Tirumala Hospital in BN Reddy Nagar.
The sources revealed that he suffered breathing issues due to low oxygen levels and he was arranged a ventilator bed. But G Anand succumbed to Covid-19.
Born in Srikakulam district of AP, G Anand started his career in Chennai and made a name in Tollywood after the death of Ghantasala. Anand learnt music from his father, who used him to play in mythological dramas in the villages. He has crooned the songs in many festivals and the functions in his neighborhood villages. The Telugu singer participated in many competitions and also won many prizes.
He was first introduced by Navata Krishnam Raju music director GK Venkatesh in Tamil Nadu in the year 1976. His debut song Oka Venuvu was an instant hit. His songs like Dikkulu choodaku ramayya, Vittala vittala.. too were hit. He had also crooned and released several devotional albums.
