 A student named Nandapu Devansh, from Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh was killed and another student named Koppala Saicharan, hailing from BHEL in Ramachandrapuram of Sangareddy district from Telangana was injured when robbers opened fire on them in the US. The incident took place on Sunday at Princeton Park in Chicago.

Nandapu Devansh (23) from Vijayawada in AP- Andhra Pradesh was killed whereas Koppala Sai Charan from Hyderabad was injured. Another student named Laxman from Visakhapatnam escaped unhurt.

3  students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had gone to the US only  ten days ago following their admission to Chicago’s Governors State University.

Trio had taken an accommodation on rent in Chicago and they were staying together. On Sunday evening, they decided to go out to buy a router for  the Internet connection. While they were on their way to the  shopping mall, 2 armed robbers waylaid them. The burglars  looted  money from the students and also  ordered them to hand over their mobile phones. When they tried to escape from the scene, the armed assailants opened fire indiscriminately killing Devansh and wounding Sai Charan whereas Lakshman managed to escape.

Koppala Saicharan had gone to the United State to study MS in Governor State University, Chicago on 11th January whereas the other 2  also were studying. His friends informed his parents around 4 pm that Saicharan was injured in shooting on Sunday and he was admitted to the hospital.

Devansh died while undergoing treatment, Koppala Saicharan is admitted to the University Medical Centre. He is stable as of now but he received the bullet on his chest.
