Game Over Review: Game Over starring Taapsee Pannu and Anish Kuruvilla, is one of those films that gets the viewers on the edge of the seat almost immediately as it starts. The movie is helmed by Ashwin Saravanan, and it has hit the theaters today on 14th June 2019. Let’s see the storyline of Game Over.
Story: Swapna (Taapsee Pannu) is a video gaming designer who works from home and everything in her house is game-related. She lives with her housemaid Kala (Vinodhini Vaidhyanathan). She is suffering from post-traumatic disorder. She gets a tattoo that eventually turns into three tattoos. She panics when she is in dark room. She is targeted by some wicked invaders at her home who try to kill her. How will Taapsee fight with her internal and external problems? Form rest of the story.

Performance: With an inspired performance in the movie Game Over that does not allow the viewers the luxury of excessive cinematic expansiveness, Taapsee Pannu handles Swapna’s character extremely well. Vinodhini Vaidyanathan as Kalamma, is good. The two keep the viewers engrossed right till the very end. Taapsee Pannu is reliably strong in a hysterically distraught role. The movie has only few actors.
Technical: Ron Yohann’s music for Game Over is impressive. His work especially in the second half lifts the film to another level. He has lifted many scenes to another level with his score. Cinematography and art work are also superb for a film. Editing is good. Production values are alright. Director Ashwin Saravanan has done a decent job with the film. Writers Ashwin Saravanan and Kavvya Ramkumar came up with a powerful statement about fighting the inner demons.
Analysis: Game Over is essentially an all-women world, where the men hardly exists. The movie starts with a murder mystery story, but midway into the movie Game Over, it comes across as a psychological horror. Game Over is worth a watch not merely for entertainment but for its new-age cinematic virtues.
