Goa beauty Ileana D Cruz started her filmy career in Tollywood with the film Devadasu in 2006. Pokari actress rose to popularity in South Indian films, before trying to settle down in Hindi Film Industry. She was one of the highly paid actresses of Telugu and Tamil movies. Her second movie was Pokiri, which was a blockbuster at the box office. Following the success of Pokiri, Ileana D Cruz was flooded with offers. She was considered a lucky charm by Telugu producers. Ileana D Cruz was part of numerous successful movies till she worked with Young Tiger Jr NTR in Shakti. Jr NTR starrer changed the direction of Ileana D Cruz’s career following her fallout with the makers of the film.

According to Ileana D Cruz, she was upset with the makers as the end product was different from what it was narrated initially. So, she decided to skip the movie promotions, which did not go well with producer Ashwini Dutt.

Earlier during the media interaction, Ileana had said, “ Director Meher Ramesh narrated the story to me. But the final output was totally different. He made a lot of changes to the story. It turned out to be a commercially flop. I couldn’t connect to the story and hence didn’t promote it.”

Few people had said that Ileana’s hatred for Jr NTR took a public turn when she openly criticized Shakti and called it a bad film. She was absent during the movie’s release and she allegedly kept herself unavailable for publicity activities on purpose.

After the release of Shakti, Ileana D Cruz was ignored from the South Indian film industry and she was forced to test the luck in Bollywood.

In Tollywood, Ileana D Cruz was last seen in Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja starrer Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by Srinu Vaitla, which was also dud.
