Assembly elections are going to be held in Rajasthan (Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023) next year i.e. in 2023. Will there be a change of power in 2023 or will people’s trust remain in Congress.  Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday said elections are not a beauty pageant and the Congress usually refrains from naming a chief ministerial candidate ahead of polls as it believes it divides parties. There is a battle between their ideologies and manifestos.

Jairam Ramesh said that the main goal of the Congress is to win elections and the elections in the system are not beauty contests between each other. Will the Congress party field a woman as the chief ministerial candidate in the upcoming Rajasthan elections? He answered the question like this.

Jairam Ramesh said that except once or twice, the Congress has never announced a Chief Minister candidate before the elections. He said that Congress thinks that there will be competition between parties, ideologies, manifestos and symbols. He said that the chief ministerial candidate will be known only after the elections.  The verdict and outcome of the election should belong to the party and not to any individual.

He also clarified that there is no political fight between CM Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan. Jairam Ramesh stated that both of them are very valuable people for Congress party and the only differences between them are opinions.
