The humongous success of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise, helmed by Sukumar in Hindi version is a testimony to the Telugu actor’s immense popularity among the mass belts in India. The first of the two-part film Pushpa released on 17th December, and emerged as one of the biggest money-spinners of the year despite being a strictly regional film, with actors and technicians from the South. Despite the low pre release buzz and stiff competition from one of Hollywood’s biggest films of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Pushpa created the record at the box office. It is known that before the release of Pushpa, Allu Arjun tried to make his entry in Kollywood.
Allu Arjun was supposed to collaborate with AR Murugadoss but the things did not materialize. But later he teamed up with Tamil director Lingusamy and launched the film in Chennai. But the project was shelved due to financial issues and creative differences. It was heard that as Allu Arjun was not impressed with the script, he backed out. Later he signed Pushpa.
On the otherside, after the rejection, Lingusamy approached Ram Pothineni and the actor gave his green signal. Thus, The Warriorr happened. Now the fans of Allu Arjun are saying that Allu Arjun took wise decision at the right time as The Warriorr is turning out a disaster at the box office.
On the otherside, Allu Arjun will join the sets of Pushpa 2 soon under the direction of Sukumar.
