Study Matches Performance Analytics to Player Conversion Rates of Top 5 Casino Sites

A recently published study makes a performance comparison between the top 5 listed online casinos and matches the results with the sites’ player conversion rates in order to reveal which are the most user-friendly real money gaming sites operating in India.

Pure Win, Casino Days, Betway, Bettilt, and 10Cric are the Indian leading casino platforms that undergo performance and user experience (UX) examination.

The study has been conducted by the analytics team at casino comparison and affiliate portal SevenJackpots India led by Industry Researcher Svilen Madjov with the aim to take a close look “at the entire journey of a new online casino user – from their first click to a smooth registration and a trouble-free deposit.”

The team uses the GTMetrix (GTM) and the PageSpeed Insights (PSI) tools to measure and evaluate the loading speeds, the total page sizes, and the overall quality and efficiency of the websites. Tests at different speeds, including WiFi and 3G, and different real and simulated mobile devices, as well as lab and field data have been taken into account.

Then, the research team analyses four months-worth of proprietary user traffic data taking note of session milestones – clicks, registrations and first-time deposits (FTDs) concerning affiliate-based traffic to Andar Bahar online and other gaming formats. The datasets are segmented by the different casino operators and the major product categories, including generic traffic, casino, and roulette.

Digital Payment Issues Can Break Otherwise Good Performance and UX Stats

The most prominent conclusion derived by the study is that issues with digital payment processing have the potential to ruin the user experience even on casino sites that display superb performance and UX stats. New players who have reached the deposit stage are normally keen to play, so if many of them drop at this point, it is a clear sign that something is wrong and needs the operator’s attention.

The average click-to-register conversion rates shown by the five examined platforms are 15.5 percent for generic traffic, 18.2 percent for casino, and 22.3 percent for dedicated roulette traffic. The average register-to-deposit (FTD) rates are even higher: 18.3, 21.4 and 24 percent respectively.

One of the operators – Pure Win, consistently registered the highest click-to-register conversion scores across the generic (20.16 percent), the casino (23.08 percent), and the roulette (29.21 percent) product categories.

Looking at the conversion to first time deposits, however, the same operator displayed the same consistency in scoring the lowest rates among all examined websites of 7.12, 11.26, and 16.95 percent respectively for the three analysed categories.

“So, gamers manage to get excited by these products and to register but decrease significantly for one particular online casino just before depositing?,” the research team at SevenJackpots points to the observed discrepancy. “The poor reg-to-ftd conversion is likely caused by PSP issues, something an ambitious casino operator needs to sort out sooner rather than later.”

“The entire Indian market was reported to have had some PSP issues in the late spring of 2022. The sheer number of payment methods, gateway providers, possible compatibility issues, and fintech solutions make up for quite the fragmented PSP scene, to begin with. On the other hand, many players are attracted by casino deposit bonuses but do not know how to use them properly. Others simply want to play a free round before getting on board,” the team concludes.

Page Speed and Efficiency Tests Results

With some occasional exceptions here and there, all five analysed casino sites perform fairly well on the whole variety of tests performed with the GTMetrix and PageSpeed Insights tools.

Casino Days behaves exceptionally well on the PSI tests, scoring 93 out of 100 possible points for mobile and the full 100 points for desktop devices. The second best score is maintained by Betway which registers 56 and 88 points for mobile and desktop respectively.

The most impressive performance measured by GTM is achieved by Betway, which is the lightest site with a page size of just 791 KB. Pure Win shows off with the second best results in optimal networking conditions and a fairly good handling over 3G speeds.
