A metropolitan magistrate court in Saidapet awarded a 6 month sentence to director-cum-producer N Lingusamy in a cheque fraud case. N Lingusamy is best known for helming action drama The Warriorr in which the young and energetic actor Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty  played the lead roles.

The fraud case was filed by a financial firm PVP Capital Limited after a cheque of Rs 1.03 cr given to them by N Lingusamy bounced.  The film maker said his production company will appeal against the verdict.

In  the year 2014, film production company Thirrupathi Brothers, which the director runs with his brother N Subash Chandra Bose, had borrowed Rs 1.03 cr from PVP Capital to direct a movie with actors Karthi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead.  The movie was titled Enni Elu Naal. However, due to various reasons, the project was shelved and the money was not returned.

The case was filed against the brothers by PVP Capital Limited after they didn’t repay over Rs 1 cr they had taken from them. The brothers had given a cheque to the production company, which bounced.

Later, PVP Capital filed a petition at the Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court accusing N Lingusamy of cheque fraud.
