OTT media service refers to a streaming media service offered directly to  the viewers via the internet bypassing cable, broadcast, and satellite TV platforms that traditionally act as a distributor of such content.  The emergence of OTT platforms has disrupted the  Theaters/cinema halls. On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video officially announced that  the movie Master, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, in the lead roles,  will stream from 29th January. And this has pushed theater owners and distributors across the country into distress. It is known news that  theatres have been running with 50 percent occupancy

The theater owners are saying that they will have actually made profits in the third and fourth week, and now this OTT release will eat into their weekend crowds.

The theater owners are questioning, Why do the directors, producers and top actors want to kill theaters if a movie is still doing so well in theatres?

The theater owners are expressing disappointment over the release of Master on OTT platform Amazon Prime. They are urging the movie makers to delay the release of the film, which came out in theatres on 14th January.

The theaters owners are feeling cheated as the movie Master is running with good numbers in  the theaters and Amazon Prime  Video is going to stream it from 29th January.  No one is thinking about the theaters. The directors, producers and top actors are only thinking about their profits.
