The risk of heart disease increases with age. This threat increases especially after menopause in women. A number of hormonal changes occur as the ovaries age. In this context, the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases. Estrogen and FSH are produced less during menopause. It can cause sudden cardiac arrest.

High cholesterol

High levels of bad cholesterol and low levels of good cholesterol increase the risk of heart disease in women. Hypertensive pregnancy disorders resulting from various psychological changes increase the risk of heart disease in women. This is due to hormonal changes during pregnancy and menopause. In addition to these, family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and a sedentary lifestyle increase the risk of heart disease in women.

1. Eat a nutritious diet:

Fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, and whole grains should be part of their diet. Also eat food that is low in saturated fats and trans fats. They reduce the risk of heart disease. Studies show that a balanced diet keeps the heart strong.

2. Regular exercise

Exercising improves blood circulation and reduces risk of heart disease. 

3. Reduce stress

Heart disease is increasing due to high stress. Find ways to reduce stress and practice them. Relaxation exercises, yoga and meditation are essential.

4. Give up smoking

Smoking greatly increases the risk of heart disease. Quitting smoking not only reduces the risk of heart disease but also improves your overall health.

5. Liquor intake

Drinking alcohol can cause some health problems. Liver diseases, hypertension and some types of cancer. Quitting alcohol altogether, or limiting it, can improve your health.
