Tollywood team Telugu Warriors emerged as the title winners in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) where a total of eight teams participated. Telugu Warriors won against Bhoj Puri Dabangs in the final held in Visakhapatnam yesterday.
In this match Telugu Warriors won the toss and handed over the batting to the Bhoj Puri team. In the first innings, the Bhoj Puri team scored 72 runs for six wickets, while the Telugu Warriors team scored 104 runs for 4 wickets in the first innings. Captain Akhil Akkineni was the top scorer with 67 runs.
In the second innings, Bhojpuri team scored 89 runs for 6 wickets. Telugu Warriors team broke the target of 58 runs easily. Won by just one wicket (Taman). Ashwin and Sachin remained unbeaten. Akhil Akkineni got Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards.
This is the fourth title for Telugu Warriors in CCL history. Earlier in 2015, 2016 and 2017, they won three consecutive titles and registered a hat-trick. The CCL tournament was not organized for the last three years due to the Corona crisis.
Meanwhile, Akkineni fans are very happy as Akhil won Man of the Match 3 times and also the Man of the Tournament. Akkineni hero also became the highest runs scorer besides scoring the highest number of 6s in this year’s tournament.
