A series of tragedies continues in Tollywood. A few days ago, senior actress Jamuna passed away. On the same day, popular dubbing artist Srinivasa Murthy died because of a heart attack. Another feat happened before the industry recovered from the tragedy of their death. Popular Telugu director Sagar (70) passed away.     

Veteran  Telugu director Sagar (Vidya Sagar Reddy) passed away this morning at 6 am at his residence in Chennai. Sagar breathed his last at his residence in Chennai after suffering from illness for some time.

Sagar started his career as a director with the film Rakasi Loya. Naresh and Vijayashanthi acted as hero and heroine in this film which was released in 1983. After that, the movie Ammadonga was made as Krishna, Soundarya as hero and heroine. Along with Bhanuchander and Lizzy, he helmed a number of films including Stuvertupuram Dongalu, Ammana Kodala, Ramasakkanodu, Khaidi Brothers and Anveshana. Sagar won three Nandi Awards for his film Ramasakkanodu.   

Vidya Sagar Reddy has served as the President of Telugu Film Directors Association for three times. He showed great initiative in solving the problems of directors. His death is a tragedy in the Telugu film industry. Many film celebrities  from Telugu film Industry are mourning his death.
