Telangana Rashtra Samithi – TRS Dubbaka MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy died at the age of 57 due to illness while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The sources say that 15 days ago, Ramalinga Reddy admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad to undergo treatment for a health issue.
Ramalinga Reddy, a journalist before joining politics , breathed his last at around 2:30 am at a private hospital, after reportedly suffering a heart stroke where he was receiving treatment. He is survived by wife Sujatha Reddy, son Satish Reddy and daughter Udayasri. His mortal remains have been shifted to his residence in Chittapur, Dubbak mandal, where his last rites will be held.
He belonged to Chittapur and won as MLA from TRS ticket from Dommata constituency in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Ramalinga Reddy was also elected as MLA in the year 2014, 2018 elections on TRS ticket. Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy actively participated during Telangana agitation. Telangana Chief Minister KCR expressed deep condolences to his family. In a condolence statement, Chief Minister recalled his association with MLA Ramalinga Reddy during the agitation for separate Telangana State and also being a native of the same district. KCR also offered his condolences to the bereaved family, and prayed god for peace to the soul of the departed leader.
