On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami on Wednesday, the chief minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao changed the ruling party of Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) as Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), portending the party’s incursion into national politics.
According to the party sources, a resolution to this effect was passed at the party’s general body meeting. It is said by KCR that the general body meeting of the party resolved to change the name from TRS to BRS unanimously. Immediately after the announcement, TRS activists, who gathered outside the party headquarters celebrated the day in a grand manner.
They burst crackers, distributed sweets and chanted “TRS and KCR Zindabad.” In posters, slogans like “Desh Ke neta KCR”, :KCR Zindabad”, etc have become popular all over the nation. In and around the venue of the meet besides other locations in the city, the popular slogans “Desh ke neta KCR”, “Dear India is Coming”, and “KCR is on the way” were chanted by the party leaders.
