TV9 Ex CEO Ravi Prakash has been arrested by officials of Banjara Hills Police Station today on Saturday at his residence. According to the latest update, a team of 10 members of Central Crime Station (CCS) has taken Ravi Prakash into custody for further investigation in connection with the three cases against him.
Ravi Prakash is arrested by the police for allegedly withdrawing over Rs 18 crore from Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL) which promotes TV9.
He is alleged with cheating, criminal conspiracy, forgery, and theft of data. TV9 was taken over by Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL). On 24th September, the new board of directors lodged a complaint against Ravi Prakash and alleged that he and former director MKVN Murthy withdrew Rs 18,31,75,000 between September 2018 and May 2019 as bonus or ex-gratia payments to themselves.
Ravi Prakash is alleged to have drawn huge sums without any proper authorization and approval.
During his arrest, Ravi Prakash questioned the police team over the reasons for his sudden arrest. He also questioned the police under what sections he is being arrested. The sources say that the police have arrested Ravi Prakash without revealing the reasons and sections. He was brought to the police station in his car.
