Performance: The performance of Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty, are highlighted and are the main assets of Uppena. Vaishnav Tej navigates the depth of his character, shines with a stellar performance that is sensitive, lively and vulnerable. Krithi Shetty has given her decent performance. The chemistry between the lead pair Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty is refreshing. Once again Vijay Sethupathi steals the show with his performance. He looks menacing in the role of father. Rest of the cast of Uppena including Sai Chand, and Rajeev Kanakala perform accordingly.
Technical: The music composed by Devi Sri Prasad is fantastic. The soundtrack that has been used to elevate Vijay Sethupathi’ character is superb. All the songs are superb. The dialogues need a special mention. The cinematography work is amazing. The production values are very good. Coming on the wok of Bucchi Sana Babu’ direction, he has done a decent job. The climax is hard hitting and handled well by Bucchi Sana Babu. He manages to bring in elements that set it apart from other honour killing tales.
Analysis: Buchi Babu Sana picks a plotline based on caste and honour killing and becomes successful to execute it.
