Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, who joined the Congress barely, few months ago ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, and even contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North, quit today. She said that she left the party red-faced ahead of the coming assembly elections in Maharashtra.
Urmila Matondkar lost badly to a BJP leader and now once again, she is in the news headlines as she has resigned from Congress Party today. Rangeela girl has cited that internal politics within the party has led her to take this step.
The actress had joined the Congress in the month of March saying she was will not leave the party after the elections. But things have changed overnight and Urmila Matondkar said goodbye to Congress Party. This happened after a confidential letter written by the actress to Mumbai Congress President Mr. Milind Deora got leaked in the media on 16th May.
Urmila Matondkar had earlier too expressed her displeasure with the leak of the letter, which exposed internal war within Mumbai Congress.
In her letter dated 16th May, a week before the Lok Sabha election results were announced – Urmila Matondkar Matondkar had criticized the conduct of two local leaders, who, she said, was “lacking political maturity, discipline” were creating the controversies.
