Vaishnav Tej rejects massive deal of Uppena

The makers of the much-awaited film, Uppena  starring Vaishnav Tej and Kriti Shetty might not release on the OTT platform, according to media reports. This move comes in contrast with many other about-to-be-released movies that are slated to release digitally. The makers of Uppena are reportedly not opting for a digital release. As per reports, the film is based on a heavy budget of a whopping Rs 22 crores.

Now the reports are coming that Vaishnav Tej and the team of Uppena has rejected a massive deal. A top OTT platform approached the makers of Uppena for the digital rights and offered Rs 13 Cr but  the makers rejected the deal as they wanted a theatrical release for Uppena.

Reportedly, a theatre release of the film will provide more revenue than the streaming platforms. Recently released songs of Uppena have already generated good buzz and the team is confident on the content of Uppena.

Apart from the lead pair, Uppena also has Vijay Sethupathi, Rajasekhar Aningi, and others in the crucial roles, Uppena was originally slated to release in August 2020. The movie will mark the debut of two stars in the South film industry, Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the music of the movie is scored by Devi Sri Prasad.
