Bala’s upcoming directorial venture Varma, the remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, is progressing at brisk pace, in which Chiyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram is playing the lead role. The makers have already wrapped up the climax part of Varma but they did not reveal that who is playing the female lead in Varma. The sources close to the film unit says that Shriya Sharma, who was seen as a child artiste in several films, is making her Tamil debut with Varma.
In Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey played the lead role and it was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It is all about the story of a young and brilliant medico titular character, Arjun Reddy with anger management issues. Earlier there was speculation that Shalini Pandey may be roped in for the Tamil version as well. But now according to the latest buzz, the makers have brought Shriya Sharma on the board to play the love interest of Dhruv. Shriya Sharma is best known for her performance as the small kid of Suriya and Jyothika in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. The official confirmation is awaited regarding it.
The shoot of Dhruv starrer Varma was started in March in Kathmandu, Nepal and later the shoot was stalled because of Tamil film Industry strike. Recently the makers wrapped up a schedule in Chennai. Bala is going to start filming the college portions.
Mukesh Mehta is producing the movie under his banner E4 Entertainments. National Award-winning director Raju Murugan has penned the dialogues and Sukumar of Mynaa fame is cranking the camera.
Razia Wilson, the former Bigg Boss Contestant will be seen shaking legs for an item song in Varma.
