Mega prince Varun Tej is slowly building his own image and fan base in Tollywood with successful movies coming at regular intervals. After the hit of Gaddalakonda Ganesh, Varun Tej is in Mumbai prepping for his next movie which has boxing as its main theme. Recently the film’s pooja has been held. New director Kiran Korrapati will direct the film. Currently, pre-production works are in full swing and shoot of this flick will start by January next year. But lates grapevine in the industry is that Varun Tej is contemplating to put this project on hold for time being. There are two reasons behind that. Let’s see them.
Firstly, Varun is not fully confident of this sports drama, If not handled well, taking up sports drama is a huge risk and market for these type of flicks are limited compared to regular commercial potboilers. After Antariksham, Varun Tej is not so confident in experimenting with films. The second reason is that Varun Tej might get the chance to work with Surender Reddy if everything falls in place. We have already come to know that director Surender Reddy after winning accolades with Syeraa is busy scripting for his next with Mahesh and Prabhas in mind. If both the heroes will take time to okay his script, Surender Reddy is thinking to move onto Varun Tej.
This will give a massive boost to Varun Tej’s career. So Varun Tej is in two minds on about doing sports drama. Actually it is not the first time, this sports drama was postponed. Varun Tej has to do this project after the blockbuster result of F2. But then Harish Shankar approached with Valmiki and Varun has done Valmiki, now Gaddalakonda Ganesh keeping aside the sports drama. Will Varun do this another time? Or will he go as per plan?
