Veteran actress Jamuna  who entertained audiences with her spectacular performance, passed away this morning due to age-related issues. She was 86.  She took her last breathe at her residence in Hyderabad.  The talented actress starred in more than 198 films in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Jamuna  is survived by son Vamsee Juluri and daughter Sravanthi.

She was Born in Hampi on 30th August 1936. Her parents had an inter-caste marriage.  Her father was a Brahmin whereas mother was from Vaisya community. Jamuna made her film debut at the age of 14 with Puttillu  which was released in 1952.  She is best known for acting in Bhookailash, Ramudu Bheemudu, Mooga Manasulu, Kurukshetramu,  and Milan are a few notable works of the actress. She was last seen in Ammammagari Manavadu which was released in 2021.  Jamuna won the Filmfare award for her performance in Milan (1967) as Best Supporting Actress which  is the Hindi remake of Mooga Manasulu (1964).

The film industry mourns the demise of the veteran actress Jamuna. Many celebrities expressed their deepest condolences to her family. Her mortal remains will be taken to Film Chamber for public homage and the last rites will be performed by the end of the day.
