Pawan Kalyan starrer Katamarayudu, which was released in 2017, is going to Bollywood. According to the latest update, Vicky Kaushal has been roped in to play the role of Pawan Kalyan.
In Tollywood, Katamarayudu was helmed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani which featured Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, whereas Siva Balaji, Ali, Tarun Arora, and Ajay appeared in supporting roles. It is a remake of Tamil film Veeram and it was directed by Siva. Though the Telugu version was failed to impress the audiences but its original Tamil version was decent hit. Now Katamarayudu is going to made in Hindi and the makers have roped Vicky Kaushal to play the lead role.
The film will be directed by Farhad Samji and is bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala. Who will play the female lead is not yet decided. The sources say that Vicky Kaushal is very excited about this project. The movie has tentatively titled as Land of Lungi.
Earlier the makers wanted to rope Akshay Kumar but later they finalized Vicky Kaushal because Akshay Kumar is busy in his upcoming project Laxmmi Bomb. Vicky Kaushal has very proved his mettle in Bollywood and has emerged as one of the most bankable actors we have in the industry.
