Vijay Deverakonda playing Jagan in YatraVijay Deverakonda has been roped in upcoming movie Yatra, in which he will be seen playing the role of YS Jaganmohan Reddy.  Yatra is the biopic of late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh- YSR (YS Rajasekhara Reddy), which is progressing at brisk pace in the direction of Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame. Malayalam star Mammotty is on the board to play YRS. The sources close to the film unit reveal that Vijay Deverakonda is playing YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Yatra. It is known news that Vijay Deverakonda played the role of journalist in Nag Ashwin’s directorial venture Mahanati, the biopic of South Indian legendary actress Savitri and now he has become the part of YSR biopic- Yatra.

According to the latest update, the makers have locked the release date of Yatra and they’re releasing  the biopic on 21st  Dec, i.e birthday of YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is the founder and president of YSR Congress. The makers are going to release the movie on YS Jagan’s birthday as a gift to him.

Unlike other biopics, Yatra does not chronicle the entire life of YSR (YS Rajasekhara Reddy). Instead, the story is just about the historic padayatra of YSR that changed the course of Andhra Pradesh’s politics.

 Earlier it was heard that Kollywood star Karthi will play the role of YS Jaganmohan Reddy,  the son of YSR but now as per the reliable sources, Vijay Deverakonda is playing Jagan. Anchor turned Anasuya Bharadwaj and Posani Murali are other actors who are part of this project. Versatile actor Jagapathi  Babu is playing the role of  YSR’s father YS Raja Reddy, in Yatra, which is being bankrolled by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under the banner of 70mm Entertainments.

 Currently Vijay Deverakonda is enjoying the success of her recent offering – a romantic entertainer Geetha Govindam and is also working for upcoming movies NOTA and Dear Comrade. In NOTA, Vijay Deverakonda will also be seen playing a politician.
