Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is currently working with VI Anand of Oka Kshanam and Ekadiki Pothavu Chinnavada fame for an upcoming film Disco Raja and now he is getting ready to join the sets of his next upcoming film. It is known news that Ravi Teja has collaborated with Santosh Srinivas of Kandireega fame for an upcoming project, the Telugu remake of Tamil movie Theri, which is expected to go on the floor very soon. According to the latest update, the upcoming film has been titled as Kanakadurga and it will have Vijayawada backdrop.
It may be noted here that Theri, which was helmed by Atlee, was dubbed in Telugu and released under the title Policeodu. The film had Samantha Akkineni and Amy Jackson playing the female leads.
Kajal Agarwal and Catherine Tresa are on the board to play the female leads in Kanakadurga, which will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Kajal Aggarwal will be seen playing the role of Samantha Akkineni whereas Catherine Tresa will be seen essaying the role of Amy Jackson.
The sources close to the film unit reveal that film Kanakadurga will have Vijayawada backdrop.
In Disco Raja, Ravi Teja is sharing the screen space with three actresses- Nabha Natesh, Payal Rajput and Priyanka Jawalkar. Ravi Teja’ last film release was Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by Srinu Vaitla, and bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Praveen Marpuri under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, which was bombed at the box office.
