Pawan Shah, the BJP worker washed the feet of Nishikant Dubey, the party’s Lok Sabha MP from Godda, Jharkhand, and drank the dirty water. The incident took place when Nishikant Dubey went to Kanhwara village to lay the foundation stone for a bridge in Jharkhand’s Godda district on Sunday. The incident was captured on camera and now the video is going viral on social media.
Coming on the video, a local BJP worker, Pawan Shah, is seen washing the feet of the Godda MP amid claps and loud cheers of ‘Pawan bhai zindabad’ whereas Nishikant Dubey is seen sitting and smiling. After scrubbing Nishikant Dubey’s feet, the party worker wiped them and drank the same water he used to wash the feet.
Later Nishikanth Dubey shared the pictures on Facebook, and said, “ Today, I feel like a small worker of the BJP. A great (party) worker washed my feet in front of thousands…in his happiness for the bridge.” Now Nishikanth Dubey is being slammed on social media sites. Few comments are as follows:

In another post, Nishikanth Dubey said (in Hindi), “If a worker was expressing his happiness and washed the feet, what is so surprising? I didn’t want to hurt his sentiments.Did Krishna not wash feet in Mahabharat?”
Nishikanth Dubey is defending himself by saying that it is part of Indian tradition. He pointed out that it is a practice among the tribal women, and was also found in Mahabharat.
On the otherside, Pawan Shah BJP worker who washed Nishikant Dubey’s feet, said, “This should not be politicised, what crime did I commit if I washed his feet and drank water? It was my sentiment. He is just like my elder brother.
