Kohli achieved the record in the 3rd and final ODI against Australia in Canberra on Wednesday. He only needed 23 runs to achieve the milestone as he arrived on the pitch, having scored 110 runs already in the2 matches this series.
Finally Virat Kohli became the fastest player to score 12,000 runs in ODI cricket, as he broke Sachin Tendulkar’17-year-old record of being the fastest player to register 12,000 ODI runs in career, after he scored 23 runs against Australia in the 3rd ODI at Canberra.
Apart from Virat Kohli and Sachin Sachin Tendulkar, others Ricky Ponting, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara,and Mahela Jayawardene are the other batsmen to have scored 12,000 or more runs in ODI cricket.
