Vishal is the president of TNFPC but a group of film producers seeking his resignation had locked the office on Wednesday. It is heard that Tamil actor and producer Vishal had tried to break the lock of the producer’s council building at Tenampet, which was closed by a group of producers on 29th December 2018. According to the reports that have been doing the rounds, Vishal was arrested and moved by Chennai police this morning.
Some members of TNFPC, protesting against Vishal, locked up the office. On Thursday morning when Vishal and his supporter reached the TNFPC office, the police asked Vishal to leave the place but the actor argued with the police and tried to break the lock. The police then detained.
The film producers who had demanded Vishal’s resignation had claimed that the actor was involved in criminal activities. Following the arrest, the group has started a meeting with Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami a state secretariat in Chennai.
On the otherside, Vishal said, “I have not done any mistake. They were not allowing me to go inside my TNFPC office. If we ask questions they arrested us. This is unbelievable.”
Vishal wrote on his Twitter, “Police who were mute yesterday wen unauthorised ppl locked the doors & gates of TFPC have arrested me & my colleague today for no fault of ours,absolutely unbelievable. We will fight back,wil do everything to conduct Ilayaraja sir event & raise funds to help Producers in distress
Vishal is also the General Secretary of the organization of the Tamil artists known as Nadigar Sangam. He was elected to this particular post in 2015.
