Whistle collections: Kollywood star Vijay and lady superstar Nayantara starrer sports based drama Whistle, has completed its run in both Telugu States. The movie Whistle was released on 25th October 2019, in a very grand manner worldwide, and received a positive response from the movie lovers and critics from every quarter. Whistle is directed by Atlee Kumar, which also has Jackie Shroff, Induja Ravichandran, Reba Monica John, Varsha Bollamma and Amritha Aiyer in important roles. Whistle the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil movie Bigil. According to the traders report, Whistle has collected a share around Rs 10.50 Cr at the box office of both Telugu States- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in its full run. The gross numbers are more than Rs 20 cr. The theatrical rights of Whistle are valued for Rs 10 Cr and it is declared as a Hit though it has incurred minor losses in East and West Godavari regions.

In Whistle, Vijay was seen in a dual role, as a father and a son. The sport based drama Whistle marked the third collaboration of Vijay and Atlee Kumar after Mersal (2017) and Theri (2016). Earlier in an interview, Atlee Kumar has said that he is lucky that he is working with Vijay for the third time. Vijay is essaying the role of a coach of a women’s football team. The film has music by double Oscar award winning music composer AR Rahman.

On the other side, the Tamil movie Bigil has turned out to be a successful venture in Chennai. The movie has collected Rs 19.07 lakh from 84 shows even in its fifth weekend.
