Tollywood is one industry which basically works on seasons. We all witnessed recently what season advantage can do to a film. Recently Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapuramulo, both turned into huge hits. Audiences have shelled out more than 250 Crores for these two films which shows the magnitude of Sankranthi releases. If a film manages to get decent talk, then this season advantage will take the film to next level.
Now as Sankranthi season gets over, there is slight dullness at the box office. Recent releases are performing decently but theater occupancy is showing decline. February and March are considered to be dull seasons for Tollywood. In November, which is another dull season for Tollywood, we have seen how theaters even struggled to get maintenance costs. Will February and March turn into another disaster season?
However there are few promising films lined up for release in these two months. Jaanu, World Famous Lover, Bheeshma and few of the other flicks are getting released this month. Nani’s V is scheduled for release in March. Will these films turn successful against the tides of off season and sail to new shores is to be seen.
