· Meaningful dialogues
· Production values
· Slow Pace
· Dig at TDP Party
Performance: The performance and body language of Mammootty is one of the major assets of Yatra. He elevates YS Rajasekhar Reddy in an emotional manner. He has suited perfectly in the gate-up of YSR. The national award winning actor has given top notch performance especially in emotional scenes. Jagapathi Babu as Raja Reddy and Sachin Khedekar as senior congressman also impress. The actress who essayed YSR’s wife Vijayamma garu is top notch. She is a delight to watch. Rao Ramesh as KVP has excelled in the role. Rest of the cast performed accordingly.
Technical: Mahi V Raghav has been banking heavily on his trusted cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan. He has done a decent job. This set up has been even elevated by superb camera work which shows Padayatra in a magnanimous manner. The music composer K provides decent BG score. Production values are neat. Dialogues by are good at places. All the dialogues are meaningful. Editing is neat.
Analysis: A good tribute to YSR. Yatra is a gripping and engaging emotional ride. The movie showcases YSR’s historical Yatra in realistic manner. But it runs on slow pace. Hence despite some good moments here and there, the film doesn’t glue us to the screens throughout this movie. However, it may work for YSR’s fans as it gives glimpse of leader’s struggles and his achievement.
