On Tuesday, Hyderabad City Police arrested YSR Telangana Party chief- YSRTP- and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister YS Sharmila Reddy on various charges, including criminal intimidation, theft, and public nuisance. Later in the evening she was produced before a magistrate.
After a late-evening hearing, the XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Nampally granted Sharmila Reddy a conditional bail on personal bond.
Sharmila was arrested by the police amid high drama while on her way to Chief Minister KCR’ official residence in a vehicle damaged in an attack by TRS men in Warangal district the previous day.
On Tuesday night, the police produced YS Sharmila Reddy and six others before a magistrate, who granted them bail on personal bond.
While the police sought remand of YS Sharmila Reddy, her lawyer argued that the police registered false cases against her though she wanted to stage a peaceful protest along with her supporters. Later the magistrate granted bail to YSRTP Party chief Sharmila and others.
When the police stopped the rally taken out by the party leaders of YSRTP with damaged bus and car, Sharmila, who was driving the damaged car, refused to get down from the vehicle. So police towed away the car with Sharmila still sitting inside.
