B Jaya, one of the reputed lady director of South Indian Film Industry, passed away on Thursday at 9:20 pm on 30thAugust, 2018 due to cardiac arrest. She was 54. She was the wife of BA Raju, who is leading PRO of the Telugu Film Industry, producer and owner of the reputed Superhit Hit Magazine.
B Jaya started her filmy career with ‘Chantigadu’ in 2003 as director, which was hit at the box office and successfully completed 100 days in 25 centers. Her popular directorial ventures are Premikulu, Gundamma Gaari Manavadu, Saval and Lovely. Her last offering was Vaishakam’ in which actor Harish and Avanthika Mishra played the lead roles.
B Jaya did MA English (Lit) in Chennai University and also she did diploma in Journalism from Chennai University. She completed her MA in Psychology in Annamalai University.
After the completion of education, B Jaya started her career as a writer for the Telugu daily newspaper. She made her debut as a director with the successful 2003 film Chantigadu starring Baladitya and Suhasini.
B Jaya was one, who introduced Kamna Jemalani and Shanvi Srivastava to Telugu Film Industry.
Her last rites will be performed at Panjagutta Cremation Ground at 11 am today.
