Prashanth Neel, who directed the pan-India hit KGF: Chapter 1 starring Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in 2018 and followed it up with KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022, came up with Salaar last year which was a decent hit at the box office. With just his last three movies, Neel has become the most sought-after director in the country. Recently Prashanth Neel participated in a show and spoke about his favorite director.
When he was asked about favorite director, to which Prashanth Neel replied, “My all time favorite director is Upendra. I am not saying this because it’s a Kannada show. His movies Shhh!, Tharle Nan Maga, and Om, span 3 different genres, and it’s not easy for a director to handle such diversity, but Upendra did it.”
Prashanth Neel also said, “Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest inspiration for all my movies. There are a lot of films that he did where he played the hero but he was also the villain. Big B made villainy look heroic. So, I try to do that with my films, I try to make my characters look as the negative as possible, even positive ones.”
