Janatha Hotel is the dubbed Telugu version of Malayalam hit movie Ustad Hotel, which was released in 2012. Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen are playing the lead role and it is directed by Anwar Rasheed. The Telugu version- Janatha Hotel is bankrolled by Suresh Kondeti under the banner of SK Pictures. Story: Janatha Hotel is all about the story of a young man named Faizi (Dulquer Salmaan), who is son of a rich man Abdul Razaq (Siddique). He studies in Switzerland as a chef against the wishes of his father. When his father comes to know the reality, he snatches away his passport to prevent him from taking up his new job in UK. He wants to settle his son’s marriage with Shahana (Nithya Menen). As the relation between father and son deteriorates, Faizi decides to work as a cook in a restaurant in Kozhikode (Calicut) run by his grandfather Karim (Thilakan). What happens next? Form the rest of the story.

Performance: All the actors have given natural and earnest performances. Dulquar Salman and Thilakan do an incredible job in this film. Dulquer Salmaan as Chef nailed it perfectly. Nithya Mene performs her character excellently. Her expressions towards end show her fine capability of acting. The chemistry between Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen has come out very well. The performance of Siddique needs applause. Praveena, Assim Jamal, Lena, Prayaga Martin, Kanchan, Sreenath Bhasi, Malvika Nair and other performed accordingly. The Food and its nuances becomes a central character in the movie Janatha Hotel and act as a catalyst of personal transformation.
Technical: Janatha Hotel is a real treat for eyes, which keeps us engaged and makes our taste-buds come alive. The characterizations and performances of everyone brought freshness to it. Anjali Menon writes an engaging screenplay and interesting characterizations. Gopi Sundar comes up with nice tunes and good background score Cinematography by Loganathan Srinivasan is note worthy. Editing by Praveen Prabhakar is neat. Art direction is very good. Production values are good.
Analysis : The story of Janatha Hotel revolves around a typical Mappilla community from Kozhikode, with several lingual references, accent references and other signifiers. The movie also carries good social message that money is not everything. The makers of Janatha Hotel come up with a universal entertainer that caters to all kind of crowds. A must watch!
