Recently the screenwriter, actor, director and producer Posani Krishna Murali, participated in an debate on Telugu News Channel, to share his views on Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. He said, he is ready to go to Delhi for the sake of the State people. He expressed confidence that Special Category Status will definitely happen. While talking about Tollywood supporting the movement for the SCS, the Telugu news channel’s editor Samba Siva Rao crossed the line and went on to make some derogatory comments on the women in Tollywood. He said that the Telugu film industry has many prostitutes.
He left many in the Telugu film industry furious. Several female actors and filmmakers- Shivaji Raja, Jhansi, Uttej, Hema and few other stars lodged a complaint against the editor and urged the police to take strict legal action against him.
Film Critic Jeevi took to twitter and wrote, “Representatives of Telugu film industry have given a complaint at Jubilee Hills police station on editor Samba Siva Rao for addressing women of film industry in abusive language during a live debate with Posani.”
Lakshmi Manchu also tweeted, “NO ONE can use such words generalizing & labeling women, no matter what. Targeting actresses will be least tolerated by our fraternity. I condemn this & won’t let this go easy. #GetALife than gaining publicity by speaking derogatorily towards the women of the industry.”
