Shriya Saran has been roped to Baahubali: Before The Beginning, the much-awaited Netflix series a prequel to the blockbuster Baahubali franchise. According to the latest update, Shriya Saran will play an important role in Baahubali: Before The Beginning, which will be directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru, and co-produced by Baahubali makers, Prasad and Shobu. Netflix has partnered with the team behind the Baahubali universe, including the Arka Media Works and Rajamouli. Now Shriya Saran is going to enter Mahishmati Kingdom.

The sources close to Shriya Saran say that the web series makers are very impressed with the performance of the actress in Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Gauthamiputra Satakarni, so they brought the actress on the board to play the important role. The filmmakers found Shriya Saran’s expressions, and body language in Krish’s directorial venture Gauthamiputra Satakarini to be apt for this period drama. They felt the 36-year-old actress could pull the role off with great flair and elegance. When she was approached for the upcoming web series, without any second thought, she gave her green signal. Very soon the official announcement will be made regarding the inclusion of Shriya Saran in the Baahubali: Before the Beginning.

Season one of the series – Baahubali: Before The Beginning will comprise 9 episodes and it is based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, The Rise of Sivagami. The series will follow Queen Sivagami’s journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequalled queen.
Shriya Saran was last seen in recently released multistarrer movie Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu starring Nara Rohit, Sudheer Babu, and Sree Vishnu.
