There is no need of any introduction for Shweta Basu Prasad.  The actress started her film career as child artist in Hindi movies and television series, and went on to play female  lead in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali movies. She won the National Award for her performance in Makdee.  Now there is a good news for the fans of  Shweta Basu Prasad! The actress got engaged to her longtime boyfriend filmmaker Rohit Mittal. It was Bollywood  filmaker Anurag Kashyap who played Cupid between the two.

Shweta Basu Prasad and Rohit Mittal have been in a relationship for around four years now. According to few, Shweta Basu Prasad got engaged last year  and the engagement ceremony was attended by their close friends. The news of her engagement was kept away from the limelight citing privacy reasons.

Shweta Basu Prasad  has also confirmed the news of her engagement but the actress is tight lipped and not ready to reveal anything regarding her marriage.  She said, “Yes, it is true. Rohit Mittal and I are engaged. It’s my personal matter and I don’t want further discussion on this topic.”

Rohit Mittal is known for his work on Autohead, Megalopolis, and Kshanik. The film maker Rohit Mittal made Autohead, a dark drama about a psychotic autorickshaw driver in Mumbai and currently he is  working on his second feature, Megalapolis. Recently during the media interaction Rohit Mittal talked about his short film Roop Ki Rani and said, “I wanted to do a short story that was more like anti-fable, and I wanted to explore the idea of two weird kind of people meet in a strange place and how they connect.”

Shweta Basu Prasad made her Telugu debut with  Kotha Bangaru Lokam in 2008, directed by debutant Srikanth Addala and produced by Dil Raju.  The actress played the loved interest of Varun Sandesh. Her popular Telugu movies are Ride, Kalavar King and Intelligent Idiots. She was recently seen in TV show Chandra Nandini.

On the workside, Shweta Basu Prasad will be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming political thriller, The Tashkent Files, in which Naseeruddin Shah is playing the lead role.  The actress, who is a mass media graduate in real life, is essaying the role of a journalist in this film.
