Transgender Character Artiste Tamanna Simhadri took a silent protest against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement at Vangaveti Mohan Ranga statue in Vijayawada. Tamannah demanded to change the name of Krishna district after Vanganvati Ranga. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and YSR Congress president Y.S .Jagan Mohan Reddy promised to change the name of Krishna District to NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao) district once YSRCP comes into governance.
Recently YS Jagan Mohan Reddy interacted with relatives of TDP (Telugu Desam Party) founder and former Chief Minister at Nimmakuru village in the Pamarru Assembly constituency, and promised that he would not only develop the village, the birthplace of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), but also name the district after the late leader.
The party leader and farmers opposed Jagan Mohan Reddy’s move and said that the district got its name from the holy river Krishna which had made the area fertile.
Tamanna Simhadri took up a silent protest near his statue in Vijayawada on Monday. Tamanna demanded Jagan to name Krishna District on Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga as he was deeply connected with the poor and sacrificed his life for the people. Character Artist Tamanna Simhadri said, “The people are deeply hurt by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for not remembering Vangaveti Mohan Ranga.” Tamanna also warned Jagan Mohan Reddy that she will go on a hunger strike in future.
