12 people died in a tragic road accident near Chikkaballapur in Karnataka. The deceased have been identified as belonging to Gorant in Andhra Pradesh. All of them were traveling from Bagepalli towards Bangalore in a Tata Sumo when the accident took place. Sumo has a total of 14 people. 12 of them died. It was found that the accident took place when a lorry which was parked on the side of the road collided.
According to the local police, 12 people from Andhra Pradesh were killed in a fatal road accident near ChikBallapur. The accident took place in the wee hours of the morning when the deceased were traveling in a Tata Sumo from Bagepalli towards Bengaluru. A total of 14 people were in the Tata Sumo vehicle at the time of the accident. Five of them died on the spot. The accident took place when it collided with a lorry parked on the side of the road.
Responding to the incident, Superintendent of Police Chikkaballapur visited the spot. The manner of the accident was examined. Eyewitnesses said that the accident occurred due to fog on the road.
Immediately after the accident, five people died on the spot. Seven others died on the way to the hospital. All the deceased have been identified as belonging to Gorantla town in Andhra Pradesh. It is known that their families reside in Hongasandra, Bangalore.
A child was also among those traveling in the Tata Sumo. Nine men and three women died, including a child. Another woman in the vehicle is in critical condition.
