Tollywood has taken a good start in 2023. In the last forty five days, many star heroes came to entertain the movie lovers with their films. 2023 has just begun and a month and a half has passed. In these forty five days three commercial hits were achieved. Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna Veera Simha Reddy films, which were released on Sankranti, became blockbuster successes and gave Tollywood a great start. Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja starrer Waltair Veerayya collected more than 230 crores.
Waltair Veerayya is directed by KS Ravindra alias Bobby. Waltair Veerayya became the fourth Tollywood movie to have the highest collections in Telugu states.
Balakrishna starrer Veera Simha Reddy was released as a competitor to Chiranjeevi’s movie, and it collected more than Rs 100 crores. It became the highest grossing film in Balakrishna’s career. The film had Shruti Haasan and Honey Rose as the leading ladies. Apart from these two films, there was no other hit in January. Sudheer Babu starrer Hunt, which was released on January 26, failed to please the audience.
In the month of February, Kalyan Ram, Sandeep Kishan and many other heroes came before the audience with their films. Except for Suhas, the rest did not succeed. Writer Padmabhushan, starring Suhas as the hero, is doing good collections.
