Kollywood star Ajith Kumar’s latest movie Thunivu was released on the occasion of Pongal 2023 and won the hearts of the movie lovers. The action drama made its OTT debut on Netflix last Wednesday and crates a record. Directed by H Vinoth, the movie scored a massive hit at the box office and now it is winning the hearts of the viewers on Netflix.
According to the latest statistics released by the OTT giant, Ajith Kumar starrer Thunivu is the only Indian movie that got 2 spots in the first 5 places in the global Top 10 list of Non-English movies (From 6th Feb – 12th Feb).
The Tamil and Hindi versions of Thunivu made it to the global charts and settled in 3rd and 4th positions, respectively. Netflix users streamed the Tamil version of Ajith Kumar starrer for 4.05 million hours and the Hindi version for 3.73 million hours last week globally, which is a rare record created by Thunivu .
In India, the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of Thunivu settled in 1st, 2nd and 4th places, respectively. The movie is set on a bank robbery, which is packed with action sequences, while Ajith Kumar delivered a stylish and powerful role to impress his fans and the movie lovers.
Apart from Ajith Kumar, the movie also has John Kokken, Mohana Sundaram, Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, Vishwanath, and Darshan in the important roles.
