The complaint, filed by B Mahender, the HR manager of ABN Andhra Jyothi news channel, alleged that Pawan Kalyan was intentionally targeting the media outlet with ‘forged’ evidence.

The complainant said that Pawan Kalyan and his team posted a video from TV9 news channel on Twitter, in which an abusive word was used against Pawan Kalyan. The complainant said that in the actual video the word was beeped but  the video posted on Pawan’s Twitter handle is fake, as the beep was removed. Further, Pawan had acquired the photo of TV9 CEO, Ravi Prakash and his wife, without their consent and posted  on his Twitter handle.

Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Detective Department, Avinash Mohanty, also said to the reporters that the channel said it had censored the objectionable word, whereas actor turned politician had tweeted an unedited version.

This comes days after Pawan was served a notice from TV 9 owner Srini Raju. Srini Raju’s advocate sent a legal notice to Pawan demanding deletion of the tweets, failing which ‘appropriate legal action’ would be taken.

The entire incident started after Telugu actress Sri Reddy  dragged Pawan into the debate by demanding his reaction to her allegations of exploitation of women in the film industry.
