Vellanki Nagineedu was a general manager at Prasad Labs before SS Rajamouli offered him a role in his film Maryada Ramanna. He won Nandi Award for Best Villain for his role in the movie. When everyone hears the name Nagineedu, it is Ramineedu’ role played by him Rajamouli’ directorial venture ‘Maryada Ramanna’.
Recently, Nagineedu said in ‘Open Heart with RK’ program, “Rajamouli saw my Tamil movie ‘Palli Koodum’. The role I played in that movie, he liked my performance. That’s why he invited me to play the role of Ramineedu’ in the movie Maryada Ramanna. Everyone said that I had done very well in this film. Actually, my original character is the same. Ours is Rayalaseema. Rajamouli brought out that originality. I am straight forward in any matter. I never have any fear.”
Maryada Ramanna is action comedy drama film co-written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli and is produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. The film stars Sunil, Saloni and Nagineedu. The movie was remade in various languages, namely – Maryade Ramanna in Kannada, Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re in Bengali, Son of Sardaar in Hindi, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham in Tamil and Ivan Maryadaraman in Malayalam.
On the work front, Nagineedu will be next seen in an upcoming Tamil drama Run Baby Run.
