Director Om Raut’ upcoming magnum opus Adipurush starring Young Rebel star Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. On 2nd October the makers of Adipurush launched the teaser that received negative response from the movie lovers. From being heavily trolled for its VFX to people calling it a misrepresentation of Indian culture, Adipurush is being criticised by many. Few also claimed that the film is ‘misrepresenting’ Lord Ram and Ravana. In fact, the hashtag #BoycottAdipurush are also trending on Twitter.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir head priest Satyendra Das has alleged that Adipurush wrongly portrays Lord Ram, Hanuman and Ravana and is therefore against their dignity. He also said, “Making a movie is not a crime but they should not be made to create deliberate controversies to hog the limelight.” Ayodhya Ram Mandir head priest Satyendra Das demanded a ban on this film Adipurush.
Few days ago, actress and BJP spokesperson Malavika Avinash has also accused Adipurush film makers of ‘misrepresenting’ Ramayana.
In Om Raut’ magnum opus Prabhas will be playing the role of Lord Ram in the film, Kriti Sanon will play Janaki, Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist, portraying King Ravana and Sunny Singh as Laxman. The will hit theatres on January 12, 2023 Worldwide in a very grand manner.
