She said that she started opposing his father when she was 15 years old. Now Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Saturday said she was also s…xually assaulted by her father in her childhood and the trauma led her to fight for the rights of women.
Speaking to reporters after the DCW International Women’s Day Awards ceremony Swati Maliwal said she faced abuse till the time she was studying in Class 4.
Swati said that she faced s..xual abuse when she was studying in the fourth standard. He used to beat her indiscriminately. She recalled that sometimes blood also came out. She said that she used to tremble when her father came into the house and she hide under the bed many times because she could not bear his s…xual abuse.
She further said, “While hiding under the bed, I used to think how I will teach a lesson to such type of men who abuse women and children, and how I can help women get their rights.”
