Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is currently working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an upcoming big budget movie Gangubai Kathiawadi. Now according to the latest report, Alia Bhatt has wrapped up the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi Mumbai’s Film City. This news is confirmed by Alia herself by sharing a post on microblogging page.
Alia Bhatt shared a few photographs from the film’s set and said, “We started the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi on the 8th December 2019 and we wrapped the movie after 2 years! This film and set has been through two lockdowns, two cyclones, director and actor getting Covid during the shoot.”
It is known news that both Alia and Sanjay Leela Bhansali had contracted the coronavirus earlier this year. As they recovered from the infection, the destructive second wave of Coronavirus struck the country, prompting another lockdown and the shutdown of all movies and tv production.
In Bhansali’ directorial venture, Alia is playing the titular role Gangubai, one of the most powerful, and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
The upcoming film also has Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa in the supporting roles whereas Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi are playing extended cameos in this big budget drama.
Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt will also be seen in RRR and Brahmastra.
