The National Award winning choreographer Saroj Khan passed away in Mumbai today  after suffering from a cardiac arrest.  In her career spanning forty years, Saroj Khan choreographed nearly 2000 songs. Her most successful collaborations were with Madhuri Dixit and late actress Sridevi. Saroj Khan came in limelight after choreographing  Mr India’ song Hawa Hawa for Sridevi in 1987. Masterji worked with Sridevi in films like Nagina and Chandni.

This was followed by her long term partnership with Madhuri Dixit in the songs like “Ek Do Teen”, “Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar”, “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga”, “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai”, and “Tamma Tamma”. Saroj Khan was also a popular face in South Indian Cinema and has worked with Mahesh Babu, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh Daggubati, Akkineni Nagarjuna among others. Allu Arjun took to Twitter and offered condolences to Saroj Khan and her family.

Allu Arjun  took to his Twitter and said, “I bow down my respects for  Saroj Khan Ji and my deepest condolences to all the near and dear ones .” Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu also penned a heartfelt note on Instagram.

Saroj Khan has worked for several hit movies such as Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Taal, Veer-Zaara, Pardes, Mohra, Darr, Soldier, Don, Saawariya, Lagaan, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Manikarnika. She has also judged dance reality shows like Nach Baliye, Boogie Woogie, Ustaadon Ka Ustaad,  and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
