We had recently reported that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has urged for a pledge which reads “One Nation and One Language” and this is in the promotion to the Hindi language. But this seems to be disheartened for a few of their own BJP leaders.

Wondering who? It is none other than the newest chief minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa. Yes, BJP leader and strongest follower of Modi and Amit Shah, BS Yediyurappa has commented on his views on the social networking platform saying that his government would never compromise with the importance of Kannada.

Karnataka’s CM comments have just come after the Shah’s comments on Hindi Diwas. But, interestingly, Yediyurappa’s tweet came into light only after facing attacks from the opposition leaders on the BJP-led national coalition.

Political leaders from non-Hindi speaking states have perceived Amit Shah’s one nation one language pledge as the biased one. Whereas, Karnataka’s CM Yediyurappa posted his views on Twitter as, “All official languages in our country are equal…. We will never compromise its importance and are committed to promoting Kannada and our state’s culture”.

On the other hand, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said the state is in a super emergency and further called People to do everything it takes to “protect rights and freedoms” guaranteed by the Constitution.
